The Partnership and Communications Analyst will be based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Position Purpose:

Under the direct supervision of the Director and in collaboration with the Deputy Director, the Partnership and Communications Analyst will support management to advance the Nordic Representation Office’s efforts and strategies in the Nordics in terms of partnership and resource mobilization efforts, communication and outreach efforts, corporate planning and compliance requirements as well as support the Director in the management of the UNCity and his/her leadership and representation across all UNDP entities and personnel in Denmark.

UNDP adopts a portfolio approach to accommodate changing business needs and leverage linkages across interventions to achieve its strategic goals. Therefore, UNDP personnel are expected to work across units, functions, teams, and projects in multidisciplinary teams in order to enhance and enable horizontal collaboration.

Duties and Responsibilities

Coordination of partnerships and resource mobilization efforts

  • In collaboration with the Director and Deputy Director, contributes to political intelligence and analysis for effective partnership and resource mobilization efforts in the NRO and provides support in coordinating incoming and outgoing missions and supports events.
  • Leads the engagement of the Nordic Office with Foundations and, when relevant, 
  • If relevant, contributes to the overall engagement with specific countries in the Nordics.

Coordination of communication and outreach efforts

  • Under the guidance and collaboration of the Deputy Director supports the effective implementation of the corporate Engagement Plan and Resource Mobilization Strategy in in the Nordics and supports the development of communications and engagement strategies targeting Nordic partners and key interlocutors to advocate for UNDP’s development agenda, and to deepen and broaden UNDP’s existing partnerships.
  • The incumbent further contributes and coordinates the visibility efforts across the Nordics through media and social media.

Corporate planning, compliance and assurance

  • Keeps track of corporate reporting and compliance requirements (including for projects) and assists in ensuring streamlined flow of requests for inputs to different strategic and corporate documents and demands.
  • Assists in the efficient running of the NRO Directorate, including HR-related matters, operations, finance, procurement, while ensuring information is synthesized and summarized for the NRO Directorate to facilitate decision-making. 
  • Drafts timely and high-quality background papers, briefing notes, talking points, analyses, note to files, and speech inputs as requested 
  • Supports the NRO Director in maintaining and strengthening close collaboration with UN agencies within the UN City and in the management of coordinated approaches and joint activities.
  • Supports and leads, as necessary, other functions within the NRO Directorate

The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

  • Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in International Development, Public or Business Administration, Public Policy or related discipline. communication, journalism, international relations, public administration, or related field is required, or 
  • A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas mentioned above in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree. 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years (with master’s degree) or 4 years (with bachelor’s degree) of relevant experience at the national or international level in the development field or in a government, multilateral, UN System setting.
  • Proven track record in building partnerships and networking and resource mobilization with a wide range of partners. 
  • Familiarity with the UN/UNDP system and the SDGs is an asset.
  • Experience and skills to support and/or implement communication strategies, outreach and/or media is required.
  • Experience in project management is an asset.
  • Experience in the use of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.). and advanced knowledge of web-based management systems such as ERP.

Language Requirement:

  • Fluency in English required. 
  • Knowledge of another UN language is desirable. 

Please note that continuance of appointment beyond the initial 12 months is contingent upon the successful completion of a probationary period.
