UNICEF is excited to announce a consultancy position for a Digital Education Regional Coordinator. This home-based role allows you to lead meaningful digital education initiatives that can transform learning for children. The Regional Office coordinates and supervises the work of UNICEF in 36 countries and territories through 24 national programs to promote the rights and well-being of all children and adolescents in the region.

Responsibilities

  • Liaising with Learning passport HQ Country Engagement team and support coordination with Country Offices in LACRO for Learning Passport activities
  • Act as a primary focal point for coordination with regional stakeholders including government entities, private sector players, civil society for Learning Passport activities
  • Act as primary focal point for coordination of Learning Passport with other UNICEF digital education initiatives in LACRO
  • Support and provide critical input to the design for major Learning passport events 2025 in close collaboration with the Learning Passport global team.
  • Participating in regional / country level meetings, discussion and events
  • Develop relationships with regional counterparts in relevant government bodies, private sector, civil society.
  • Support the implementation of activities related to all 3 areas of Learning Passport ’s work in LACRO – advocacy, technical assistance on mapping and monitoring and procurement
  • Represent Learning Passport in regional and national conferences and present Learning Passport success stories.

Requirements

  • An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: education, economics, psychology, sociology, or another relevant technical field. *A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 7 years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.
  • Five years progressively responsible professional work experience in project management, management consulting, research, international development, or a relevant field.
  • A minimum of two years of professional experience working in digital education / technology for education is required.
  • Experience in facilitating engagements with an array of partners at the national/regional level, i.e., government entities, international development organizations, or civil society, etc.
  • Strong familiarity with the cultural and political context of LACR
  • Proven capacity to work with collaborative teams across different locations and with different technical skills.
  • Strong writing and communication skills and the aptitude to handle competing messages and priorities with multiple audiences.
  • Ability to translate complex ideas from various fields into unified, clear guidance.
  • Experience working in complex, resource poor contexts is a plus.
  • Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
