The International Labour Organization (ILO) is hiring a Resource Mobilization Officer. This role focuses on developing strategies to secure funding, fostering partnerships, and advancing initiatives that promote decent work and economic growth globally.

The position of Resource Mobilization Officer is located in the Development Partners Relations Unit (DPRU), within the Multilateral Partnerships and Development Cooperation Department (PARTNERSHIPS).  PARTNERSHIPS comprises a UN, International Financial Institutions, Economic Organizations and  Civil Society Branch (UNIFICS), three units: Development Partners Relations Unit (DPRU), the Development Cooperation Support Unit (DCSU), and the Emerging and Special Partnerships Unit (ESPU) and one direct report on Public-Private Partnerships. The incumbent will work with a team of professionals in the areas of resource mobilization and development cooperation.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake research and analysis on funding opportunities, priorities and emerging trends for each assigned development partner and maintain up-to-date factsheets and development partner profiles.
  • Provide support in the implementation of specific resource mobilization strategies for selected ILO outcomes, priorities or themes. 
  • Support the engagement with development partners, including the maintenance of the network of contacts with counterparts, and communication on results achieved. 
  • Provide support to local resource mobilization undertaken by field offices through sharing good-practice, information on development partners and specific support for country-level resource mobilization efforts.
  • Provide support with the preparation for the negotiation of funding agreements with development partners, ensuring compliance with ILO rules, regulations, directives and procedures.
  • Support the preparation and follow-up of donor review meetings.
  • Facilitate the timely start-up and closure of projects, including the review of revisions.

Requirements

  • First-level university degree (Bachelors or equivalent) in economics, social sciences, international studies, or other relevant field.
  • At least three years of relevant professional experience in the area of development cooperation, and\or project administration.
  •  Knowledge of development partners and donor agencies would be an advantage.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to clarify information. 
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as a member of a team and ability to deal with people with diplomacy.
