Background Information

The main objective of the Resource Mobilization Division (RMD) is to: (1) diversify funding
sources from traditional and non-traditional donors and increase quality funding; (2) build
resource mobilization knowledge and capacity across the organization, and (3) improve donor
recognition and accountability. Its core function involves building and maintaining relationships with donors, active mobilization of flexible funding, diversification of funds, and coordination of IOM’s collective resource mobilization efforts to advance IOM’s mission as articulated in its Strategic Plan.
Given IOM’s decentralized structure, donor engagement and resource mobilization functions are
shared by different organizational and geographic units. As such, the Division plays a pivotal
role in streamlining and enhancing these functions. The Division adds strategic value by not only
coordinating these efforts but also by offering essential guidance, developing and disseminating
knowledge, and reinforcing organizational capacity to raise funds. Under the overall administrative supervision of the Head of RMD and the direct supervision of the Resource Mobilization Officer.
