Are you passionate about aviation and looking to make a difference? The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is inviting applications for an Associate position. The incumbent reports directly to the Head of her/his respective Operations Unit, with whom she/he consults on complex issues, when required. The Head of Unit can delegate his/her supervision of this position to any of the FOS Project Officers composing the Operations Team. The incumbent supervises staff members directly assigned by FOS under her/his direct responsibility to support him/her in project management, providing coaching and guidance if necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the initiation and start‐up of projects for States/Organizations in accordance with CDI procedures
  • Manages, in accordance with CDI procedures, the implementation of projects
  • Manages the closure of projects
  • Supports the administrative aspects of the Section, Unit, and meetings
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Requirements

  • A first-level university degree in engineering, aviation, management, business administration, or in a related field.
  • Project Management Certification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP).
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience, at progressive levels of responsibility, in project management and administration of technical assistance/cooperation within a civil aviation authority and/or international organization and/or a relevant industry.
  • Experience in using modern project management practices.
  • Experience working in an aviation environment.
  • Experience in an international setting such as the United Nations Common System Organization.
  • Experience working with global or regional organizations or donor/financial institutions for resource mobilization and for the provision of technical assistance.
  • Experience working with Quality Management Systems.
