The UN seeks a skilled Homebased Consultant specializing in Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) and External Communications. This role focuses on enhancing project visibility, ensuring effective communication strategies, and driving impactful evaluations for sustainable development initiatives worldwide. All tasks will be carried out under the supervision of the Head of POMOZ in consultations with substantive officers covering terrorism prevention, wildlife crime, rule of law, asset management, drug trafficking and drug use/HIV prevention, among others as applicable.

Responsibilities
- Produce monitoring reports including those relating to progress, performance, and impact of programmes and grants in compliance with donors and organizational requirements.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate results-based monitoring and evaluation tools and procedures.
- Work with the UNODC Office in Mozambique to facilitate the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of assigned programmes and grants.
- Carry out basic research on selected aspects of programmes, operations, and other activities, including collecting, analyzing, and presenting statistical data and other information gathered from diverse sources. External communications:
- Manage the official UNODC Mozambique website, ensuring its content remains current and accurately reflects the Office’s activities, achievements, and partnerships.
- Provide support towards the management of the official UNODC Mozambique Twitter account, maintaining an active presence by regularly posting updates, announcements, and engaging content related to the organization’s work, events, and partnerships

Requirements
- An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Political Science, Law, Economics, Social Science or related field is required.
- A first-level university degree in similar fields in combination with two (2) additional years of qualifying work experience, may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- At least 2 years working on aspects linked to international development is required.
- Previous experience in setting up and maintaining a comprehensive M&E system is required.
- Experience with use of graphic design, page layout and video editing software is required.
- Proficiency in the use of personal computers and programmes is required.
- Experience in web and social media platforms management required.
