The UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) is hiring a Programme Management Officer in Geneva. This role supports vital initiatives aimed at fostering sustainable development and enhancing global trade. This position is located in the Office of the Secretary-General in the United Nations Trade and Development (UNCTAD). The focus of this jobs is to lead the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programmes, operations and other activities in UNCTAD.

Responsibilities

• Performs consulting assignments, in collaboration with the client, by planning facilitating workshops, through other interactive sessions and assisting in developing the action plan the client will use to manage the change.
• Researches, analyzes and presents information gathered from diverse sources.
• Coordinates policy development, including the review and analysis of issues and trends, preparation of evaluations or other research activities and studies.
• Generates survey initiatives; designs data collection tools; reviews, analyzes and interprets responses, identifies bottlenecks in the achievement of agreed targets, recommends resolution and prepares conclusions.

Requirements

Education

• Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics or a related field is required.
• A first-level university degree in the preceding areas of study in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Job – Specific Qualification

• Successful completion of training in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable.

Work Experience

• A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration or related area, is required.
• A minimum of three years of applying result-based management (RBM) concepts in an international organization is required.
• A minimum of three years of developing RBM tools in an international organization is desirable.
• Experience in the coordination/preparation of programmes of work in international organizations is desirable.
• Experience in monitoring and evaluation is desirable.
• Experience in coordinating contributions to United Nations interagency mechanisms is desirable.
• Experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
