The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking a skilled Business Development Manager to drive innovative projects and partnerships. This critical role involves developing strategies that enhance financial sustainability and promote effective program implementation. Ideal candidates will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of development issues, and proven business acumen.
The Business Development Manager will report to the Chief of Smart Infrastructure Services and will identify new business opportunities in order to generate revenue, improve profitability and help the business grow. The work can involve careful strategic planning and positioning of the unit in the UN system, NGO and human development arena. This opportunity is aligned with the Strategic Plan 2022–2025 | UNDP and aims at supporting the SDGs.

Requirements
Education:
- Min. Academic Education Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Business Administration, Sales or relevant field is required. OR
- A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas stated above, in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years (with master’s degree) or 9 years (with bachelor’s degree) of proven working experience as a business development manager, sales manager or a similar role is required.
Required skills and competencies:
- Proven experience to execute the growth strategy through initiation of new development opportunities.
- Experience in project management, and a strategic, visionary, and analytical mindset with a structured approach to problem solving.
- Proven experience in building and developing partnerships with internal and external partners.
- Proven excellent people and communication skills and the ability to convincingly engage with internal and external senior level stakeholders;
