The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking a skilled Programme Analyst for a home-based position in New York. This role offers a unique chance to contribute to global development initiatives. Under the supervision of the Programme and Reporting Specialist at the Spotlight Initiative HIVE programme, and in close collaboration with other members of the Spotlight Initiative global team, the incumbent will contribute to the UN country and regional teams’ efforts in designing, resourcing and rolling out such new Spotlight Initiative programmes.

Duties
- Support delivery of advice and guidance to UNCTs on the development of new Spotlight Initiative programmes
- Contribute to the development of concept notes and programme documents
- Foster partnerships with key stakeholders, and contribute to knowledge management, advocacy, and resource mobilization efforts for programme development
- The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Education requirements
- Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Gender Studies, Political Science, International Relations, International Development, Public Administration, Development Economics, or related field is required, or
- A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas stated above, in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Minimum years of relevant work experience
- Minimum of 2 years (with master’s degree) or 4 years (with bachelor’s degree) of relevant professional experience in coordination and management support of joint UN programmes or other inter-agency pooled funding instruments in domains of sustainable development, at the country or regional office level in development settings.
Required skills
- Experience with and knowledge of UNSDG policies and practices of pooled funding / joint UN programming and of the UN Development System Reform processes.
Desired skills in addition to the competencies covered in the Competencies section
- Experience with programming on gender equality, women’s empowerment and/or the elimination of violence against women and girls.
- Experience working on complex projects involving multiple partners at global, regional, and national levels – including government, civil society organizations, donors, and UN Agencies, preferably in developing countries.
- Experience with EU-funded programming.
- Proven experience in partnerships and resource mobilization
Required Language(s)
- Fluency in oral and written English and French is required.
- Knowledge of Spanish is desirable.
