Are you passionate about digital governance and civic engagement? UNDP is excited to announce a home-based position for a Digital Democracy Analyst in 2025. This role lets you make a meaningful impact on global democracy while working from home. The Digital Democracy Analyst, home-based, reports to the Senior Electoral Advisor. The Analyst is expected to travel on short- and long-term mission assignments globally.

Responsibilities
- Provide program support for the implementation of the Electoral Compass activities across its global geographical footprint, with an emphasis on Latin America and the Caribbean. This includes technical support to UNDP counterparts, including electoral management bodies and parliaments, on issues related to information integrity, digital policy, and digital transformation.
- Support all reporting, advocacy, and communication activities related to the Electoral Compass, including leading evidence-gathering, systematization, and drafting of impact reports for donors, in close coordination with BPPS and all country offices involved. Additionally, participate in relevant external meetings, including partnership and advocacy initiatives with UN partners, permanent missions, and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of strategic events and cross-learning initiatives developed within the context of the Electoral Compass.
- Support the implementation of eMonitor+, UNDP’s in-house-built social media listening tool, in Latin America and the Caribbean. This includes, in close coordination with BPPS’ Digital Democracy Specialist, supporting the facilitation of training and capacity development programs on information integrity, digital policy, and digital transformation.
- Contribute to UNDP data gathering, research, policy development, and the implementation of activities related to the state of, opportunities for, and challenges in strengthening information integrity, rights-based digital policy, and digital transformation in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Requirements
Education:
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Political Science; International Cooperation; Development Studies; Social Project Management; Media and Communication, or other related fields is required, or
- A first-level university degree (Bachelor`s degree) in the above mentioned fields, in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of master´s degree.
Experience:
- Applicants with a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field of study are not required to have professional work experience. Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) are required to have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in the fields of governance, electoral assistance, or other development areas.
- Experience producing reports, advocacy and communication products for high-level audiences, particularly international donors.
- Experience in the field of digital media monitoring.
- Experience and knowledge of political communication, methodologies for social media monitoring/listening.
Languages:
- Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
- Proficiency in another UN working language is desirable.

Travel
a) UNDP will cover the cost of travel of the individual to the duty station, as well as their return to their home upon completion of their services. Travel costs are covered only in the event that the function will be undertaken physically in the duty station and excludes working from home arrangements.
b) Travel is expected to countries where eMonitor+ is deployed or will be deployed, including but not limited to: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Guyana, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Venezuela, amongst others.
