UNICEF is hiring an HR Associate to support its life-changing work for children and families. If purpose drives you, this is the role for you. Under the close supervision and guidance of the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Associate provides administrative, procedural and operational support and assistance to the efficient implementation of a broad range of Human Resources functions for all categories of staff in PPD, ensuring accurate and timely delivery that is in compliance with UNICEF HR rules and regulations.

Responsibilities
- Operational Support and HR TransactionsProvides day-to-day operational HR support to staff within the Public Partnerships Division (PPD), ensuring timely and efficient delivery of NYHQ-based HR services in line with UNICEF’s Catalogue of Services, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Responds to queries from staff and administrative focal points on HR policies, procedures, and entitlements—especially those related to staff mobility, travel benefits, and contract administration—ensuring clear and accurate guidance in compliance with UNICEF’s staff rules and regulations.
- Reviews HR cases that may fall outside of standard policy guidelines and refers complex or sensitive matters to the assigned HR Manager/Officer, while providing initial guidance to staff based on applicable rules.
- Monitors the status of HR service requests submitted through corporate systems (e.g., Service Gateway), follows up on pending actions, and escalates issues to the HR Officer as required.
- Reviews and approves entitlement travel requests initiated by staff or administrative focal points, ensuring documentation is complete and in accordance with applicable travel policies.
- Prepares and certifies documentation for visa and work permit applications, including G-4 and G-5 visas and permits for eligible family members and household employees, in compliance with host country requirements and UNICEF policies.
- Supports new staff who are U.S. permanent residents by providing information on mandatory host government procedures such as filing for waiver of privileges and immunity and registering with U.S.

Requirements
- Education: Secondary Education
- Work Experience: At Least 6 years of relevant work experience in Administration, Human Resources, Operations , Human Resources, Recruitment, Entitlements Management, Staff Mobility, Travel Benefits, Contract Administration, Data Analysis, Onboarding, Placement, Compliance, Service Delivery. A Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) from a recognized academic institution in a field relevant to the position may replace 3 years of related work experience. A Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) may replace an additional 2 years.

- Language Requirements : Fluency in English is required.
