Disrupting Harm project and across the unit’s portfolio of research projects, by applying consistent and effective planning, monitoring, and evaluation of project progress and deliverables. This role will be responsible for developing project plans, monitoring project scope and budget, timeline management, resource planning and forecasting, donor reporting, monitoring and evaluation, and liaising with project partners to ensure smooth delivery of key milestones and deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Coordination Lead development of multi-year implementation and workplans for a new longitudinal study and Disrupting Harm project, coordinating timelines, partnerships, and operational processes—including recruitment, contracting, and collaboration with UNICEF country offices and stakeholders.
  • Monitoring and Reporting Continuous monitoring, budgeting, and reporting across projects—updating frameworks, tracking progress against plans, managing risks and finances, compiling lessons learned, coordinating donor and stakeholder reports, and ensuring timely, accurate documentation of project performance and impact.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communications Foster strong collaboration with UNICEF offices, partners, and national stakeholders; lead stakeholder engagement and communications strategies for both projects; maintain buy-in and advocacy around findings; and coordinate report production, launches, and outreach to ensure effective visibility and impact.

Requirements

  • Minimum requirements
    • Education: Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in Social Science, Social Sciences, Project Management and any other related fields.
    • Work Experience: At least 5 years of relevant work experience as Project Manager for Research projects on child online protection.
    • Additional fields such as: Communication, Financial Management, Programme Management, Programme Specialist, Digital Research, Project Management, Research Coordination, Stakeholder Engagement, Budget Monitoring, Reporting. 
    • Skills: Budget Monitoring, Donor reporting Stakeholder coordination, Strategic planning, project management, Analytical reporting.
    • Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required. 
  • Desirables
      1. Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) and Italian is a strong asset.
      2. SAP, VISION, PRINCE2, Child Protection, Low-income country, Middle-income country, UN systems
      3. Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
