UNICEF is seeking qualified candidates for a remote project coordination consultancy vacancy in the United Kingdom for 2025. This role focuses on managing hosted funds to enhance educational outcomes in Sierra Leone’s communities effectively. The consultant will provide technical advice and guidance on the implementation of both the SLEIC and ECE programmes in Sierra Leone. The consultant will report directly to EOF’s Programme Manager and collaborate with all members of EOF’s team.

Responsibilities
- Prepare, in consultation with EOF’s program team, pre-reading for program governance meetings.
- Facilitate 90-minute workshops for EOF’s grantees at least 2 weeks prior to the data submission deadline on 6 occasions throughout 2025, 2026 and 2027.
- Conduct visits and produce activity reports on 12 occasions. Visit reports written and shared with EOF’s Programme Manager and grantees within 1 month of each visit.
- Following each of the 12 visits to schools and early childhood centres, produce safeguarding reports summarizing the areas for strength and areas for improvement in the practices of the grantees.
- Facilitate workshops with EOF’s grantees on an estimated 60 occasions throughout the programme’s implementation. At times, this will be all grantees included in the meeting, and for others will involve 1:1 meetings with specific grantees.

Requirements
Education:
- An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in business, economics, political science, finance, education, international development, or a related field is required.
- A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree
Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in programme delivery work, in growing responsibility.
- Prior experience with Safeguarding in Sierra Leone is highly desirable.
- Experience in directly leading people, projects and teams.
- Experience working in a start-up/ scale-up environment; comfort and ability to thrive amidst ambiguity and to quickly (re-)adjust to new circumstances.
- Experience or an interest in international development, the global education sector, and international aid.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Fluency in Krio is required
Requirements:
- Completed profile in UNICEF’s e-Recruitment system and;

- Financial proposal that will include/ reflect:
- the costs per each deliverable and the total lump-sum for the whole assignment (in US$) to undertake the terms of reference.
- travel costs and daily subsistence allowance, if internationally recruited or travel is required as per TOR.
- Any other estimated costs: visa, health insurance, and living costs as applicable.
- Indicate your availability
- Any emergent / unforeseen duty travel and related expenses will be covered by UNICEF.
- At the time the contract is awarded, the selected candidate must have in place current health insurance coverage.
- Payment of professional fees will be based on submission of agreed satisfactory deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment in case the deliverables submitted are not up to the required standard or in case of delays in submitting the deliverables on the part of the consultant.
