UNICEF is seeking a Senior Consultant for a 6-month remote position in the Public Partnerships Division (PPD) at NYHQ. The role involves managing contracts and agreements, supporting strategic partnerships, and ensuring compliance. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in contract management and public sector collaboration.
Under the supervision of the Risk Manager, the Senior Consultant (Contracts and Agreements) will conceptualize and create a searchable and systematized digital database of public sector donor conditions and develop and deliver trainings and capacity-building resources for PPD teams on negotiating public sector agreements. The Senior Consultant (Contracts and Agreements) will further conduct review of PPD compliance with Delegation of Authority and Resource Mobilization policies and make recommendations to improve related processes, as needed.

Responsibilities
- Donor Conditionalities Tracking Mechanism.
- Review of PPD compliance with Delegation of Authority and Resource Mobilization policies
- Training and capacity building of PPD teams on legal issues focusing on negotiation of non-standard legal agreements with public sector.
- Development of knowledge management resources for organization on negotiation of public sector agreements.

Requirements
- An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in a relevant field of law (e.g. international law, commercial law).
- A minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in in the practice of law in relevant field (e.g. international law, commercial law). Demonstrated experience in contracting and/or negotiating donor agreements with international organizations
- In-depth knowledge and experience with negotiation of public sector donor contracts with a UN organization.
- Familiarity with donor conditions imposed by public sector partners.
- Experience conducting desk reviews for compliance and adherence with relevant policy and/or legal standards.
- Familiarity with UNICEF’s contribution agreements with public sector agreements, and/or with UNICEF’s Legal Office and Public Partnerships Division is an asset.
- Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills, excellent interpersonal skills with staff at all levels, and the ability to work with different stakeholders of the organization.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
