Innovative Internship: World Vision Seeks AI and Data Analytics Intern

  • Location: Remote
  • Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analysis, Data Science, Communications, or related fields.
  • Hours: Full-time and part-time opportunities are available (24-40 hours/week)
  • Internship Cohort Dates: 27 May – 22 August. 
  • Stipend: this internship is unpaid, but all US-based interns receive a monthly stipend of $800.

World Vision is looking for a passionate AI and Data Analytics Intern. This opportunity allows you to leverage data to drive impactful solutions, enhancing our mission to improve the lives of vulnerable communities worldwide.

World Vision Internships offer a three-month opportunity for talented students and recent graduates eager to dive into the international relief and development field. As part of World Vision International’s global IT department, the AI, Data, and Emerging Technologies team is on a mission to revolutionise how they use data and AI. World Vision teams up with various groups to ensure our data and AI practices are ethical and impactful. Its approach? Start small, run pilots, and focus on projects that can make a big difference.

By diving deep into World Vision International’s data landscape, it spots risks and prioritise key areas. It loves experimenting with AI and generative AI to uncover both risks and exciting benefits, and it recommend smart policies along the way. Plus, it champions best practices in data analysis, manage World Vision’s data platform, and empower its business units to take charge of their own data analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Data analysis: Compile and assess data on AI tool use and pilot participant feedback
  • Data visualisation: Use data visualisation tools to clearly present AI pilot findings, insights, and patterns
  • Develop recommendations: Work with the team to make data-driven recommendations as we transition to a broader implementation of AI within World Vision
  • Research: Conduct research on emerging AI trends and technologies
  • Content development: Help develop, refine, and test AI learning content and communications
  • Knowledge sharing: Organise materials for World Vision’s AI champions/AI community of practice platforms and intranet/communications platforms

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Eligible to work in the United States (US Citizen/resident or F1-student visa) and have a valid US Social Security Number.
  • Able to commit to at least 24 hours per week for the entire internship period. 
  • Current student or recent graduate from an undergraduate programme (within 2 years).
  • Willingness to use own electronic devices for internship purposes, and disposition to let WVI install endpoint security software in those devices.
